Finally back in sunny-yet-sometimes-rainy Singapore! Where the water is green and the air smells not that fresh, home sweet home indeed!

After staying in a 64m by 9m metal cage for 2 weeks,it feels good to be back. Ironically, the water outside that rocky, bouncy cage was either a nice blue,or crystal clear. While the air was either salt-filled,or sweet and fresh.

Tioman is a beautiful place, beautiful and boring that is.Thank God for the company, else I really dunno what to do with my shore leave there. The ship crew really hokkien soldier, only difference from regular hokkien soldier is that they're mostly married and with kids. So.... mature and responsible hokkien sailors that despite their incessant smoking and alcohol guzzling style, sorta grow on u after a while. I'll miss them.

To be honest I really had nth much to do there. Other than the odd case of S/T,flu and headache,my routine was "wakey wakey, lunch, nap, dinner, attempt to read before night snack, sleep". When we played host to foreign sailors,I'll be part of the welcome party that spends the whole afternoon with them watching DVDs( I never watched so many DVDs in my life before), talking and realizing how much more fun other navies are. S'pore navy really very safe, but boring. Go Tioman but no water sports, can't even jump into the water around the ship to swim. But see other ships do that. No complains though.... And all yeah, the Australian Navy really very well-paid sia!!

Needless to say, after 2 weeks of being cooped up onboard with only 2 days of shore leave,i gotta find activities to expend my stored up energy. Ran errands, packed a bit just now. Maybe I shld go for a swim later. Ummm...... But in any case, looking forward to spending this 4 days holiday!
