Thursday, June 12, 2008 10 more sizzling hot saturdays to burn before 9th August. Still i rather it dont rain on any of those days, cos will expect more trauma injuries due to slippery surfaces,as opposed to the usual heat exhaustion on hot days. Had component training today. Supposed to utilise some of the ambulances, but traditional military cock up: there were no ambulances available today. So basically my team just went there super early in the morning to watch other teams set up and have a free kfc lunch before going back around 1300. Gonna be very sick of kfc soon.... Anyways,it was rather interesting today. To have 8 guys in our camo uniform walking ba long long around esplanade, fullerton hotel and raffles place. In fact,we were actually just walking from floating platform to another site to do a recce. But it was funny to see the weird stares we drew as a group. My words probably won't do justice to the hilarious moments. I rmb as we were walking along the merlion,a group of tourists numbering approx 25 peeps called out to us. This long hair, dark skinned Indian lady called,"Photo!" while pointing to her camera. Next moment, her fellow clicker-happy friends were shouting over the distance for us to take pictures with them. My team was very amused, but naturally we didn't agree. It was kinda malu actually. Here we are walking past them in the open and there they are gawking and calling to us like we're some peculiar zoo animals. Despite our objection to taking photos with them, some of them still clicked away merrily on their cameras. So malu........ Lucky none of us were holding our macdonalds' in our hands, else caught on camera. Haha. Guess its very strange to see a bunch of army guys walking around in town. That wasn't the only incident when we were walking. The tourists will be very interested, wanna take photo and ask very excitedly,"Singapore army?!". While the Singaporeans will give weird stares, snigger that NS nowadays so xin lang before hurriedly looking away. Labels: Random Unknown Source at 4:44 PM
