1) Loooong holiday away from P.Tekong and whats the first thing i do? Fall ill with fever =X So much for going out to enjoy.

The bright side? At least i didnt have fever when i was still in camp. Imagine the sucky feeling of feeling feverish in a not so comfortable environment.

2) Missed the opportunity to play soccer with my friends. Been a long time since i last touch a soccer ball and hang out with them.

The bright side? Unlike them,i wont have body aches and feel sleepy from playing soccer at 7 plus in the morning at Bishan. Not to mention the amount of time i get to spend at home.

3) My mum doesnt stay with my family anymore.

The bright side? I treasure the times she visits us a lot more now. More than words can describe......

4) Spiritual father out of town when im in town.

The bright side? Opportune time to meet up with spiritual brothers instead.

5) Having to retake IPPT and 16km route march cos of Status.

The bright side? More experienced in what a 16km march feels like, having close buddies to retake them with me. And leaving me less tired on Monday when i do not have to take the Monday IPPT and instead, have more energy for the drill competition qualifiers!

6) Rejection letter from NUS (Only applied for NUS this year =S)

The bright side? Learning to take academic issues more seriously. Not gonna take it for granted now.

7) Being in the platoon that undergoes the tougher training in the company. The high number of sick people speaks a lot about the training.

The bright side? We're definitely more prepared for post BMT life than the other platoons.

8) Extremely limited spaces of command school and hence low chance of getting into OCS.

The bright side? Perhaps God has another plan for me. OCS afterall, was always a dream for my ownself from the start.

For all the bad things that happens, there're a lot more silver linings that I miss out. Hopefully my eyes will be opened to more of those silver linings.

My GOLDEN lining.....take away the 'L','E' and 'N'.
